Fireside Chats –  Interview Workshop w/ Melissa Ngamini

Our Data for Hope™ Education Program cohort went through an Interview Workshop with Melissa Ngamini, PhD, ATLytiCS Inc. Head of Education. Melissa shared tried and tested lessons and techniques for acing the interview and gave the students constructive feedback as they went through the exercises.

Key takeaways from the workshop:

– Be prepared. Research the position, company and interviewer. Practice your ‘elevator pitch’ to concisely communicate your experience and skills. Be ready with questions for the interviewer.

– Use the STARS (Situation, Task, Action, Result, Self-Reflection) format when responding to questions. Highlight projects that you have done and showcase your personality.

– Follow up with a thank you email and ask for feedback. Build a support system that will encourage and motivate you through the journey.
