Fireside Chats – How to Network (Mixer) with Lina Van

Networking is an important professional skill that anyone can get better at. Our Data for Hope™ Education Program students learned more about best practices for networking during our recent fireside chat.

– Networking is building alliances that are beneficial for all parties involved. It is a two-way relationship that takes time and attention, preparation and practice.

– There are endless opportunities to connect and build your network. Put yourself out there by attending events such as meetups and conferences, engaging in online discussions, and posting relevant content.

– Create an elevator pitch and highlight what you bring to the table. Try different approaches to learn what is most effective for you. Networking may be challenging at first but it can become second nature with practice and consistency.
