ATLytiCS Kicks off the Second Year of its Data for Hope™ Education Program
ATLytiCS is thrilled to announce the second annual cohort of its Data for Hope™ Education Program. Continuing our commitment to empower individuals traditionally underrepresented in analytics, we aim to equip them with the essential tools needed to foster a flourishing career in the analytics domain.
The origination of this program comes from one of ATLytiCS’ projects on analyzing factors impacting the Metro Atlanta area. From this analysis, we learned a concerning trend – a significant segment of Atlanta’s underrepresented communities lacked the avenues to training and opportunities in the analytics realm. This not only deprives them of tapping into the vast socio-economic prospects in Atlanta but also limits their overall growth potential. Given ATLytiCS’ large community of analytics professionals, we recognized our capability to bridge this gap.
As a result, the Education Program was created to uplift these communities and provide a tangible path to transition to an analytics career. Over the 12 week program, students will delve into the nuances of data analysis, data querying, data visualization, and data storytelling. To culminate their learning, students will complete a capstone project showcasing their analytics skills.
Throughout the program, they are matched with mentors, ensuring a smooth and supported transition into their new roles. The mentors are dedicated professionals from the community, who over five months will be committed to bi-weekly meetings with their mentees, providing valuable guidance for enhancing professional development. This will include practical advice on crafting resumes, improving interviewing skills, and developing essential soft skills. These interactions will be instrumental in shaping a well rounded educational journey for the mentees.
In our ongoing collaboration with DataCamp Donates, ATLytiCS is proud to offer extended training opportunities. This ensures students can consistently hone their analytics capabilities and remain at the forefront of learning in the subsequent 12 months.
