ATLytiCS Presents! May 10, 2022
May 10 ATLytiCS Presents! features Catresa Barlow, advisor, adjunct instructor, mentor, and ATLytiCS volunteer, will discuss using data science to give back to the community and her experience working on an ATLytiCS project.
About this event
ATLytiCS Presents! is a guest speaker and panel series to explore issues surrounding data and the common good.
Catresa completed a project with Berry College in partnership with Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth (RFCCCY) to improve outcomes for homeless young adults from ages 20 to 24. The project’s goal was to provide this age group with a centralized resource for locating shelters, food pantries, clothing, and health clinics. This talk will cover this project with Dr. Thema Monroe-White and her students to create an interactive map that provides easy access to homelessness assistance resources in 14 Georgia counties.
