General Facts
In 2017, the two main causes for death for people age 0-29 in the US were preventable injury and suicide. The top two preventable injuries are poisoning and motor vehicle accidents, which together account for over 60% of cases.
In Georgia, the likelihood of being killed by motor vehicle accident or drug overdose is very similar.
Addiction starts as early as during infancy, but key risk periods are major transition periods, like elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school
