Case studies are widely used by many companies to test candidates’ technical and soft skills. Our recent Data for Hope™ fireside chat focused on case studies and gave our students the opportunity to learn from data practitioners.

Our key takeaways:

• Practice, practice, practice. Find sample case studies, try them out and get feedback from others.
• Research the company in order to have better context into the scenarios in the case study. Listen to earnings calls or podcasts to get an insider’s perspective on the company’s performance and prospects.
• Demonstrate your technical skills, thought process and communication skills. This means being mindful not only of what to include but also what to cut down in order to tell a compelling story or have the most impact.
