- In transitioning to data analytics, focus on a few sets of tools first. There’s tons of analytics tools. Focusing on some of the main tools first (Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Tableau) allows you to learn the fundamentals, be versatile, and expand your toolset as your career grows.
