Fireside Chats – Introduction to KNIME – Venkatesh Ravirala

Our inaugural class completed the first portion of their education program–excel & statistics. To celebrate, we were honored to have Dr. Venkatesh Ravirala, Senior Director Customer Science and Insights at Walgreens Boots Alliance, share his advice to the cohort and showcase KNIME, a data analytics platform. A few highlights from his conversation for how to transition to analytics:

  1. Learn the overall process of data analysis and how/when to use the foundational tools.
  2. Master the basics for pulling data, analysis, and visualizing data. Understand how to ask the right question to expand your knowledge as needed.
  3. Understand how the core skills you bring to the table tie together to help you be an effective data analyst.
  4. Understanding the process for breaking down problems into its smaller components is transferable across all industries.
